About AILET Exam – AILET is a national level entrance exam conducted every year by NLU Delhi for admission in its Five Year B.A.LL.B. [Hons.), LL.M. and Ph.D Programme. But here, we are discussing only about B.A.LL.B. [Hons.) Programme. AILET Entrance Exam for UG Course is conducted online or offline (subject to revision) & 150 objective type questions are asked from the subjects of english, gk, current affairs, logical reasoning & Legal principles which may be used in the logical reasoning section. Total time given is 120 minutes.

About AILET 2025 Notification – As per the latest update from NLU Delhi, it is going to release in Aug 2024, NLU Delhi will start the application for AILET 2025 Entrance exam for admission in Five Year B.A.LL.B. [Hons.), LL.M. and Ph.D Programme. Now, this year AILET 2025 exam is to be conducted in offline mode in Dec, 2025 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at all India level.

AILET & CLAT Story So Far – In India, Students used to face a lot of pressure & other issues due to individual entrance exam by the law universities, so why the formation of common law entrance exam is done in the form of CLAT. At present 25 NLUs are taking admission thru CLAT except NLU Delhi & NLU Meghalaya. Till now, NLU Delhi takes own entrance exam in the name of AILET.

NLU Delhi 50% Quota Story So Far – In NLU Delhi, There was 50% quota reserved for the candidates of Delhi. In 2020, a petition was filed in High Court of Delhi & then court declared it wrong & accordingly NLU Delhi compiled to remove it as per order of the court. So now All 100% seats in NLU Delhi is open for all India candidates. So now there is no quota system for Delhiites in AILET.

AILET Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for AILET 2025 are primarily based on two factors.

Qualification & Age Limit for B.A LL.B (Hons.) Course

AILET 2025 Educational Qualification : Any candidate who has completed 10+2 or equivalent examination with not less than 45% of marks (40% in case of SC/ST/Persons with Disabilities) in the aggregate is eligible to apply for AILET 2025 Exam. Kindly note that candidates appearing for their Class 12th examination in March / April 2025 are also eligible for AILET 2025 Exam. Such candidates need to give evidence of passing their Class 12th exam at the time of admission. Candidates who fail to fulfill this will lose their right for admission through the AILET exam.

AILET Exam Pattern for Ph.D

The AILET has 100 Multiple Choice Questions for 100 marks that must be attempted within 2 hours (120 minutes). 50% of the questions for the entrance test shall be relating to Research Methodology and the remaining 50% shall be from different areas of law i.e. all major subject of law like Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, Law of Contract, Jurisprudence, Law of Tort, Corporate Law and International Law etc.

Marking Scheme - Each question carries 1 mark and for every incorrect attempt, 0.25 marks will be deducted.

Selection Procedure for Admission in B.A LL.B (Hons.) and LL.M Courses

Admission of candidates to B.A LL.B (Hons.) and LL.M programmes is offered by NLU Delhi on the basis of their rank obtained in the AILET merit list based on written test only.

Selection Procedure for Admission in Ph.D Course

The admission shall be through a two-stage selection process, which includes (1) written entrance test and (2) the evaluation of research proposals followed by interview/ viva-voce. In the final selection of candidates, a weightage of 70% shall be given to the entrance test and 30% shall be given to the results of evaluation of research proposals and interview/viva-voce.

Steps to register for AILET 2025 - Candidates should fill the form in CAPITAL LETTERS & keep one blank between each word.

Step 1 : Log on to the official website of National Law University, Delhi - nludelhi.ac.in OR nationallawuniversitydelhi.in

Step 2 : Tap on the "AILET Admissions 2025" link on the homepage of nludelhi.ac.in & then tap "Click here to Apply" OR open nationallawuniversitydelhi.in & Click on “New Registration” where you need to signup or login account by providing the below mentioned information.

Step 3 : Generate OTP

Step 4 : Enter CAPTCHA

Step 5 : Enter OTP which is send on your mobile number.

Step 6 : Again enter CAPTCHA

Step 7 : Tick "I Agree"

Step 8 : Then Click "SUBMIT" Button, You get the confirmation of account creation with application no. & check email for password confirmation.

AILET 2025 Admit Card

The AILET 2025 Admit Card is available for students to download on NLU Delhi website one or two weeks before the AILET 2025 Exam i.e. from 3rd week of Nov 2024 onward. The AILET 2025 Admit Card is an essential document for candidates who are looking at appearing for the AILET 2025 Exam. Kindly note that no hard copy of the AILET 2025 Admit Card will be sent. The candidates have to download it only from NLU Delhi website.

AILET Result 2025

NLU Delhi will be declaring the AILET 2025 in online mode on the official website of the institute. Post AILET 2025 result declaration the qualified candidates will be called for the counseling. The counseling process will be conducted either online mode or offline mode at NLU Delhi. No admissions will be held once the spot round counseling has been conducted.
