Important Notice - Recently NTA has completed UGC-NET Dec 2022 examination process. In a notification which was issued by NTA Dated 5th Jan 2023 (Read Notice Here), it was said that UGC-NET June 2023 exam will be conducted between 13 to 22 June 2023. UGC NET JRF Eligibility Criteria

The basic criteria that candidates must fulfill to meet UGC NET JRF eligibility criteria are:

• Candidates should secure at least 55 per cent aggregate marks in post-graduation
• Candidates should not be more than 30 years in age in order to be eligible for JRF
• There is no age restriction to apply for the post of Assistant Professor
• A relaxation of five per cent in educational qualification is given to reserved category candidates
• A relaxation of five years in age criteria is given to reserved category candidates
• Candidates who have cleared State Eligibility Test (SET) before June 1, 2002 are exempted from taking the UGC NET exam.

UGC NET JRF Exam Pattern

UGC NET is conducted in online mode and the questions in both the papers are objective in nature. As per the revised exam pattern of UGC NET exam, there is no negative marking for incorrect answer. Earlier the exam was conducted for three papers. With effect to the introduced changes, the exam of UGC NET is conducted for two papers. UGC NET JRF Syllabus

A brief about both the papers are:

• UGC NET JRF Paper 1 Syllabus examines the teaching and reasoning ability, research aptitude, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.

UGC NET JRF Salary

The Assistant Professor in universities & government colleges is governed under 7th pay Commission with entry pay of Rs.57,700 excluding HRA, DA and other allowances making it one of the highest paying government job with 3% of annual increment.
