PU LLB 2026 Entrance Exam Notification

Every year Punjab University releases its own notification for pg law entrance exam for admission into its 3 years llb course at its various centres of the university. The name of the centres are

• Department of Laws, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
• Panjab University Regional Centre, Muktsar.
• UIL, Panjab University Regional Centre, Ludhiana.
• University Institute of Legal Studies, Swami Sarvanand Giri, PU Regional Centre,Bajwara, Hoshiarpur.

There are total 480 seats for which the pu llb entrance exam will be conducted on Sunday, June 28, 2026 in city Chandigarh only. The online registration for pu llb entrance exam is starting from 30th April 2026 & the last date is 18th June 2026. Please read this important note for final admission in pu llb : As you get the pu llb result, punjab university will release online admission form for llb & again students have to submit this form. What  punjab university says applying for entrance test and taking the test do not entitle a candidate for admission. For admission to pu pglaw based programme being offered by various department/centre, online admission form will have to be submitted by the candidate separately. The candidates are required to fill up and submit online admission form at on or before the last date of submission, even if the result of entrance test has not been declared by then.

PU LLB Entrance Exam Pattern

The duration of the Entrance Test will be of 1 hour and 30 minutes. The Entrance Test will be of 100 marks consisting multiple-choice questions. The objective type questions will be available in Hindi and Punjabi also.

The questions will be based upon following three components:

Negative Marking for wrong answers -   ¼ marks will be deducted for wrong answers and for each correct answer 1 mark is to be awarded.

PU LLB Entrance Exam Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification - Bachelor/Master Degree in any discipline with at least 45% marks in aggregate from Panjab University or any other University recognized by Bar Council of India and Panjab University. 5% concession is admissible in eligibility marks to SC/ST/BC/PwD candidates.

PU LLB Entrance Exam Application Fees

The Fee for PU PGLAW Entrance Test is Rs.2,710 for general & obc categories candidates and  for SC/ST/PwD candidates the pu llb entrance exam application fees is Rs.1,355. The fee for the Entrance Test once paid shall not be refunded.

PU LLB Selection Process

The final merit for admission shall be computed by the concerned Department/Centre after taking into account the relative weightage for final merit for admission in respective courses. The relative weightages as applicable to the department/centres are as follows:
